I am considering reformatting my NAS drives and trying to do the sync the opposite way - from the SSD to the NAS.Please keep in mind these warnings before installing on your production setup! Google searching the error tells me it's been occurring across several DSM and Mac OS versions, but nobody has posted a solution. I reached out to Synology Support, but they don't respond for 6-8 hours so we're in a one-message-per-day loop that really isn't getting anywhere. I set up the same sync task on a PC and it works flawlessly.but I want this for the Mac. I have tried eliminating the folders that the "troublesome" files lived on from the sync task, but it quite quickly just gets stuck again. I have tried wiping the SSD and initiating a new sync from scratch - same issue. The log has the error, " does not have mac attributes". It gets caught on files on the SSD and just constantly updates them (the modified date updates to the current date and time every minute). ![]() Synology Drive client was smart enough to know that it was a new drive, so I had to create a new sync task and that meant a full re-scan and sync of the files anyway. With my new drive, I decided to use the USB Copy feature on the 220+ directly, which got me back to status quo. Worked perfectly until my external SSD failed. I set it up as a 2-way sync because we use the mobile app as well to upload our phone pictures/videos straight into the NAS, and I want those to flow down onto the SSD as well. What I like to do is work on my laptop with my local SSD files (~3TB of photos & videos) - I edit there, I pull in new files right there onto the SSD, and then I use the Synology Drive Client to sync up so that everything is backed up to the NAS. My setup: DS220+, a Macbook running current MacOS, and a USB SSD attached to it. ![]()
